A single response categorical variable is a variable where:
- The data can be represented by a single variable.
- Each case can be assigned one and only one label (e.g., Coke, Diet Coke, Pepsi).
- That data has been derived from a survey question where people were permitted to only provide a single response. For example:
Q1 Which of these is your favorite? Choose one Coca-Cola 1 Diet Coke 2 Coke No Sugar 3 Pepsi 4 Pepsi Lite 5 Pepsi Max 6 None of these 7
